A thermostat inside the stator protects the charger in extreme weather—if the internal wiring reached 140°F, the thermostat opens the freewheels while the wiring cools back down to about 70°F, then reconnects for continued charging. Constructed of aluminum, fiberglass, polycarbonate and stainless-steel, it's built to last in the marine environment.
